Department Head Pipeline Production

 

The Department Head Pipeline Production is responsible for all activities within the Pipeline Production Department. The Department Head Pipeline Production supervises the key discipline activities of welding, non-destructive testing (NDT) and coating within the department and ensures that all disciplines for upcoming and long term projects are timely and economically prepared to support the pipelay vessels in accordance with the project requirements. The Department Head Pipeline Production reports directly to the Manager Project Management.

Job requirements:

  • MSc / BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or International Welding Engineering;
  • Minimum five years of relevant experience with welding, coating or non-destructive testing, preferably in an offshore environment;
  • Minimum five years experience in managing a department;
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken;
  • Excellent communicator, pragmatic problem solver and team player;
  • Willing to travel.


Job tasks:

  • Collect and analyse pipeline production related data and advise Allseas’ Management as required;
  • Monitor daily progress of ongoing production on the vessel or work site;
  • Maintain a record on certification of all welder functions;
  • Verify that welding, NDT and coating disciplines follow a work rotation schedule to cover the project activities adequately;
  • Provide tender input as requested by the Proposals Department;
  • Familiarise with project requirements and provide input for project preparations together with the department;
  • Liaise with the vessel on project preparations;
  • Inform the supervisor on the vessel or work site of potential non-conformant or non-efficient welding, NDT and coating practices;
  • Perform interdisciplinary checks on project specific and general installation procedures;
  • Ensure adequate follow-up of problems encountered by the vessel offshore;
  • Identify areas of improvements within the Pipeline Production Department.
