Building pathways for carbon capture and storage (CCS)
We are at the forefront of CCS pipeline tenders, helping clients capture and store CO₂ emissions to mitigate industrial carbon impact and advance global climate goals. We are the main offshore contractor for the Netherlands’ first major carbon capture and storage project, Porthos. This landmark project will cut the country’s annual CO₂ emissions by 2% by transporting 2.5 million tonnes of CO₂ from the Port of Rotterdam to disused North Sea fields annually for 15 years.

Technology for hydrogen transportation
In anticipation of future needs, we are investing in technology for safe and efficient hydrogen transportation. Our R&D focuses on evaluating new and existing materials and welding compatibility for pure hydrogen and hydrogen-natural gas blends. By taking a leading position in the path towards developing guidelines and standards for the design, construction and operation of pipelines, we are supporting the offshore energy industry’s step into this new and promising market.
