  • Engineering, preparation, removal & disposal (ERPD) of 18,400-tonne processing/drilling/accommodation topsides & 11,500-tonne jacket (incl. all 32 conductors & subsea template)  
  • Transfer of topsides & jacket to Iron Lady for load-in to Aker Solutions yard at Stord, Norway 
  • Transfer of conductors and template to Sagro yard at Vlissingen, the Netherlands 
  • Pre-lift preparations (incl. removal & separation of under-deck caissons)

Specials & challenges 

  • First-time removal of complete platform utilising all Pioneering Spirit lift systems (TLS, JLS & 5000-tonne crane)  
  • Offshore scope completed in 12 days across two campaigns (removal, transport & load-in of complete platform) 
  • Design, fabrication & welding of bearing blocks (horseshoe connections), lift trunnions with fixed spreader bars (jacket lift) & various frames (conductor removal) 
  • Welding of bearing brackets with own crew in combination with Covid restrictions 
  • Lift & transport of jacket in near-vertical position (60 degrees JLS angle) 
  • Optimisations for topsides load-in to accommodate future toppling of the structure 
  • Fabrication of jacket lift trunnions (capacity of 5500 tonne each) 
  • Removal & reclining of 32 conductors (76 m each)
