The latest addition to our fleet, Sandpiper, is a superior anchor-positioned pipelay barge, equipped with fully automated mooring and pipelay systems for high-performance shallow water operations.

Sandpiper specialises in:
Offshore pipelay

Advanced shallow water pipelay

Specialised for shallow water construction, Sandpiper combines precision and efficiency, excelling in congested shallow waters environments up to 150 metres deep. The barge’s automatic 10-point mooring system, featuring lightweight, high-strength, self-floating lines, significantly speeds up positioning operations and performance reliability. Anchor deployment is faster, handling times reduced and midline buoys no longer necessary, easing any client concerns about contact with existing subsea infrastructure.

Capable of laying pipelines up to 60 inches in diameter, with an additional piggyback line for pipeline bundles, the barge’s automated pipelay systems drive pipelay efficiency. Her design includes an 800-tonne crane for heavy construction and a davit system to support complex mid-line tie-ins and above-water connections.

Operational since 2023, Sandpiper supports Allseas’ pipelay fleet and undertakes independent contracts, making her a versatile asset. With the option for modifications to handle deeper water, she is built to push the boundaries of anchor-positioned pipelay, performing with unmatched efficiency across global shallow water projects.
