On 22 August 2026, Allseas celebrates 10 years since single lift moved from bold ambition to proven reality. A decade after the successful single-lift removal of the Yme topsides, the approach has become firmly established in offshore installation and removal.

The milestone traces its origins back more than 40 years, when Allseas was driven by the belief that offshore heavy lift operations could be done differently. At the time, large offshore structures were typically installed in modular sections spread over multiple offshore campaigns.

Allseas was convinced there was a safer, faster and better alternative: installing entire offshore structures in a single lift.

Following years of development, engineering and determination, that vision became reality in August 2016. The successful single-lift removal of the Yme topsides demonstrated the viability of the concept and marked the beginning of a new chapter in offshore construction.

Over the past decade, single lift has been applied on projects around the world, supporting the installation and removal of offshore structures on an unprecedented scale. What was once considered an idea too ambitious and complex has become a proven solution, helping clients deliver complex offshore projects safely and efficiently.

The achievement reflects more than a technological breakthrough. It demonstrates what can happen when convention is challenged and bold ideas are pursued with conviction. From the earliest vision through to the projects delivered today, single lift reflects a mindset that continues to define Allseas: challenging convention, pioneering progress and delivering solutions that move the industry forward.
